IMPERIAL PREFERENCE

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT PENDING London, April 26. It is understood that' the Imperial ,War Conference, including the South African delegates, has unanimously accepted the preference proposals. Mr. Lloyd George will make the announcement iu the House of Commons, ..and will also announce the Government's decision on the Paris economic resolutions. The announcement has been hurried on owing to the determination of France immediately to denounce all treaties, with a view of shutting Germany out of favoured nation treatment ; and also to make a fresh treaty' with Britain. This action was rather resented here, but Mr. Lloyd George conferred. with M. Ribot (Premier of France), and a mutual decision wa6. reached.—Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn.
