Sightseers in Khaki. The soldier sightseer has become quite an institution, in London. Khakiclad platoons mako tho grand tour of tlio town daily, personally conducted, amid tho historic sights of the metropalis and most avid of all are the Anzacs and the Canadians. "Men on short leave from tho - front with only a fow hours to spend in_London' aro particularly keen on putting dn as much timo as possible in being shown round," said one o£ Messrs. Cook's representatives to a representative of the "Daily Mail." "Wo arrange horse-brake tours for them.ivnd make a-moruing and afternoon of it, driving them around to all tho principal sights. I find that the most popular items on the programmo are, curiously enough, of. a 'monumental nature —tho national Valhalla in "Westminster "Ibbey, Olivor Goldsmith's tomb bcTiTnd tho Temple Church—and the Dogs' Osmctiwy in Hydo Park. Of t&ese three perhaps the last is tho most fascinating to them. Old London and the houses and stroots mado memorablo by Charles Dickens are another great attraction. Scores of tho Anzacs whom I have shown round know Dickons by heart and can quofco him far bettor than most Londoners. One of my passengers recently was a Maori whose familiarity with 'Pickwick' was astonishing. . He was very anxious to make a tour of investigation along GosweTt Road and to find the house where Mrs. Bardell and her immortal lodger had _ their amorous adventures. He received a shock when he got there and found nothing tnf£ tramway lines and ferro-concreto."
