'TOTAL OF £1500 REPRESENTED. • ' The Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke) stated yesterday that the Soldiers' Club furnishing fund was doing nicely. Since the last published return of £998 there bad been received the sum of £18. as the proceeds of a dance held at'tho Lower Hutt, and .New Plymouth had forwarded a donation of £25. Auckland had contributed a full-sized Hard table, which made three (the other two from Christchurch and Wan<*anui), the value of which was about £480, bringing the total up to over £1500. The olub is to he opened on May Day by the Acting-Prime Minister. ,
