The Hon. W. : Fraser, Minister of Public Works, mil arrive in Avellmgton by the Patcena this morning..

Another old settler, of the Wairarapa. in the person of Mr. Francis Shaw,, died yesterday at the age of 84 years. Deceased arrived in .New Zealand in 1874 in the ship Ocean Mail. He followed farming pursuits at Greytown, Tauherenikau, Woodvile, and Masterton. He leaves-one son (Mr. George Shaw), and three daughters.

Mr. T. Dwan lias returned to Wellington. The death is announced 'in_ a Press Association telegram from Christchurch of Mr. James Plunkett, journalist, wno for many years was on the staff of the Christohurcli "Press." .
