Mr. J. S. Munro, of Pnlmorston North, has received advice that tho Military Court of Inquiry has declared his eldest son Jack (previous!.': reported missing since the big offensivo of the New Zealand Division at Flers on September 15, 1916) now killed in action. Tho deceased soldier was born in "Palmerston, and in his" school life achieved great success. After twelve months at Victoria College ho went to Otago University as an art student, with a view to.eventually entering the ministry of tho Presbyterian Church. He was resident in Knox College up to tho end of the last term in 1915, when he volunteered for active service; joining tlie 13th Reinforcements.
