The vacancy in tho directorate caused by tho death of Mr. Charles Pallisev lias liol been filled, the directors being of opinion that a board- of six was sufficient for tho management of tho company. OPERA. HOUSE COMPANY. Tile report of the directors of the We!- • lington Opera House Company, Ltd., ■ shows, that, the net profit for this year amounts to £151 13s. Bd.; and this liaa been carried to the appropriation account, which, together with the amount (£B6 143.) brought forward from last year, leaves a balance of £3638 7s. Bd. A half-yearly dividend of 3 per cent, was paid on October 13," 1916, which absorbed £1462 135., and the- directors now recommend a further 3 per cent., making 6 per cent, for the year. They also recommend that the usual honorarium of £105 to the directors be passed for payment. SHEEPSKIN' SALES. Messrs..' Dalgety and Company, Ltd., beg to advise having received the following cablegram from their London office, under date April 19:—"At the Eheepsllin sales 2100 bales were olfcred, and practically all were, sold. ■ i MONET MARKET. Tho Banlc of England discount rate was on January 2. 1914, reduced from 5 to 4i per cent., on January 22 it was reduced to 4 per cent,, and on January 23 3 per ; cent. On July 30 the rate was raised to 4 per cent... and on- July 31 it was raised to 8 per cent, and on August 1 it was iurther advanced to 10 per cent. On August 6 the rate was reduced to 6 per cent., on August 7 it was further reduced to 5 per cent., on July 13, 1916, it was raised to 6' per cent., on January 12, 1917; it was reduced to 5J per cent., and on April. 5 it was further reduced to 5 per cent. . OPEN MARKET RATES.
