BYLES ON PEACE
A VERY EFFECTIVE REPLY London, April 13. In the House of Commons Mr. Bonar Law announced that the Government would hold a secret session next wees:. The Budget would be introduced on the 30th.' Mr. Bonar Law, questioned regarding the torpedoing of hospital ships, said it was inadvisable to give information whether reprisals would be renewed-on other places. Additional losses of hospital ships would shortly be.announced. Sir'W.'P. Byles asked, in view of the British and French successes, the revolution in Russia, and the entry of the United States, if t>e Government would, reconsider its decision and convene a conference of' belligerents to soek a settlement, as Germany had iwice invited. Mr. Swift M'Neill interjected: Won't It be time to consider peace when the Germans cease blowing up Hospital ship;;? (Loud cheers.) Mr. Bonar Law: The interjection Is a better answer than mine.
