Evory day ofFers .of nionoy free of interest and of. gifts, to the nation reached the Treasury and the National War Savings Committee. Some of them wore very large; others that were sent direct to ; .the Chancellor of the Exchequer included sixpences saved by children. Several ' in stamps or postal orders were received. ; "A mother and daughter" sent £1, and 1 a woman' forwarded- two £5 notes from Boscombe, Ilants. A Belgian, M. .Tncqucs Hamolecouirt, who had to leave his native country when the. Germans invaded it, took .£3OOO in notes to the Mansion Houso. Another interesting subscription was a JES picce.
