MR. HOLMAN'S VISIT TO LONDON

QUESTION OF NORTON GRIFFITHS CONTRACTS. Sydney, April 19. The "Sun" states that the leading purpose of, Mr. Holman's visit to London is to interview Mr. J. Norton Griffiths, M.P., head of the .'firm of Norton Griffiths and Co., Ltd., contractors, to endeavour to arrange for release from the Government's contract with the firm for the construction of four railways upon payment of compensation. ■' The Sydney representative of ' tho Norton Griffiths Company, is vigorously protesting against tho closing of public works. The State's stoppage of works on the ground of shortage of money is a direct breach of its contract. It is authoritatively stated that the Government is endeavouring to terminate the contract by taking over all the works and paying the company a commission on the money raised by it. —Press Assn.
