METHODIST MEETING

, The Wellington South Methodist Circuit . quarterly meeting was held in Trinity. Schoolroom on Monday. Thero was a good attendance of officials, presided over by the Rev. E. Drake. The roll showed a net loss of two members for the quarter, and the Sunday schools roporfc was considered favourable, though a shortage of teachers was remarked upon in most instances. •• Tho balance-sheet as presented by the circuit stewards was approved. A. Sloss was shown on tho working for the quarter, due principally to tho fact of one Sunday's offerings being given towards defraying the conference expenses. Mr. Webb's report of the meeting of Sunday school superintendents was received, and the proposal that a combined meeting of Sunday sohool teachers he called was endorsed. The resolutions passed at confereiicc with regard to promoting and sustaining increased interest and .enthusiasm in the work of the. church were road and discussed, and' arrangements were put in hand to give effect to these resolutions as far as possible. The arrangements include a series of devotional services to be held throughout the circuit, spread over _a, period of _ three weeks. Tho superintendent minister's action with, regard to obtaining a suiM able . agent for pastoral work in the I circuit was approved. I
