VICTORIA COLLEGE COUNCIL

The monthly meeting of the Victoria College Council was held last evening, Mr. C. "Watson presiding, There were also present Messrs. 11. M'Calluni. TO., T. R, Fleming, W. H. Morton. W-. S. La': Trobe, Rev. W. A. Evansj Dr. Hector, and Professors'Garrow and Brown.. ' Professor Garrow moved, in accordance with notice, that the resolution of. tho council passed at the March meet-, ing, referring to the Senate, the Pro-, fessorial Board's proposals for re-exam-ination of students in' March be held, over, and that tho proposals be referred back to tho board for a fuller, statement of the reason in support of | the proposals, and as to their conformity with the University statutes. This' was carried. •' It was resolved, on the recommendation of the Finance and Business Committee, in conformity with the recommendation of the Professorial . Board, that one Jacob Joseph Scholarship b" granted to Miss C. C. Braddock, and that tho other bo not awarded' for tho present.. It was ■ resolved: That the question of holding tho graduation ceremony be left iu the hands of the chairman. Professor; Garrow and Rev. W: A. Evans, with power to act, and that.the oounoil grant £15 for the expenses of the ceremony. > Accounts amounting to ;£llO4 9s. 4d. were passed for payment'.'y -
