The remarkable flow of .gifts and assistance bv Indian chiofs and noblemen towards the .war continue without ceasing, and the/Viceroy almost daily has received a valuable offer from some part of India. Among the recent notable patriots are;— The Maharaja of Patiala, who raised two corps of mule-drivers, and a complete camel corps,. and will defray their entire expenses during the continuance of the war; the Khan of Kalat (Baluchistan),' who has given 100 camels; the Raja of Manipnr, who has raised a double company of infantry costing 10,000 rupees, and will defray their cost in the field, and train a reserve of 100 costing 22,000 rupees yearly; the Chiefs of Jind, Malerkotia, and Farindkot, who donated a number of mules, -i The following"Feudatory States made contributions:—Bihar and Orissa, 54,000 rupees for two aeroplanes: Bharatpnr State, 50,000 rupees, and Panna State, 10,000 rupees for war purposes; Palita'na State, one mile of railway, and. 30 wagons -for. Mesopotamia. 1 Ratlam State will' maintain a hospital for British troops at Imlore. The Maharaja of Siwhi supports a convalescent home for British officers from Mesopotamia at Mount, Abu, and the Maharaja of Dkolpur' has given a motor-car for the nursing sisters at Basra. The Maharaja of Sirmur and Farindkot has given houses, in Simla for officers. . • '
