FEDERAL BUTTER POOL
TO CONTROL LOCAL SUPPLIES. Melbourne, April 14. The Federal authorities have initiated a butter pool, to ensure adequate supplies for local requirements during the winter, months. By this arrangement the States will contribute sixty thousand boxee. A committee will control the output of the factories, which will continue to sell 80 per cent, of their output to agents for local sales in the ordinary way. The balance, 20 per cent., must be consigned to cold storage under export conditions.—Press Association.
