"(DRAWING COMPLETED YESTER- .-■'..- DAY. The drawing of the ballot for. the IThiriietli Reinforcements was.completfed: yesterday by the. Government Statistician (Mr.. Maleolin Eraser). The names of the men. drawn for. service jhave now toibecheoked in, the-usual. ,way by the Statistician and the superViang Magistrate (Mr. S. E. M'Carthy), and they are, expected to' be available ; for publication in a Gazette Extraordinary about Monday nest. The operation of the ballot was quick &nd smooth. The drawing took-place sit new quarters to which tho National 'Register was moved recently/, and the improvements that have been suggested by the experience of previous ballots simplified the work of the staff •without any loss of accuracy. The Mayor of Wellington (Mr. J. P. Luke) Represented, the city at the drawing.'
