ST. MATTHIAS'S CHURCH, MAKARA

The annual meeting of St. Matthias's Church, Ma-kn-ra, was told last evening, the vicar of Karori and Makara presiding. The'chairman pointed out that the year had been a very good one. Last year tho Makara portion of the parish had raised its assessments and h'ad not only met this but the balancesheet showed a credit of £5 13s. 4d. The fund for tho now church had , increased considerably dur!i)jj the year, and now stood at £446 los. The vicar expressed tho hope that {he Ladies' Guild would go on working energetically, and add another £40 or £50 during the coming year. A sub-oommittee responsible to tho Karori Vestry -was appointed, consisting cf the following: Mr. Bowler, vicar's warden; Mr. Wallace, people's warden; and Mr. Hislop, hon. secretary.
