SOME CONSIDERATIONS FOR THE EFFICIENCY BOARD
Sir,—Among other things one would suggest to the Efficiency Board that they tackle the question of the Government taking immediate steps to provide large cool-storage accommodation, in view of the possible sinking of numerous ships ..fitted with refrigerating space, and the consequent uncertainty of the position nest season. Further, that in view of the urgent need for providing money to finance the war, and tho insignificant, not to say contemptible, part New Zealand has.', so far played in this.respect, tho board should impress upon the Government the need for letting people know, with the_ least possible delay, what their liabilities in the matter of taxation aro to be this year,'so that peoplo may know what' surplus funds they aro likely to havo for the next War Loan, to effect which Parliament should ho called together at an early date. It is possible that the board already has these things Tinder consideration, but there can be no harm in emphasising their urgency.—l am. etc., R. D. FELL. "Nikau," Nikau Bay, April 2, 1917.
