WAR LOAN CERTIFICATES

STEADY.. SALES' CONTINUE.

The public demand for War Loan Certificates during March has ' been a comparatively steady one. ;In the first week the sales exceeded in the second week, in the third, week, ..£13,000; and in the fourth week, .£16,000. Che sales in the Wellington district still continue to largely exceed those in any other district. There have also been considerable sales in the New, Plymouth aiict. Invercargill districts. •

The total sales have now reached .C1.328.717.\The fable'below shows, the sale?. in each, district, and. the amount pei': head accpvding to the approximate supplied by the Government Statistician.. It will be seen that, the Wellington district still, leads 'in the total ,amount" of money subscribed, but that .on the averaue per head the Blen'heim 'district is first with XS .Is. Bd., followed by Wellington Jl 16s. Id., Nelson m l'4s., and Dunedin M 10s. 3d; At the other end of the list are Auckland 12s. Bd., and.Thames lis.:9d.
