FIRES
TWO OUTBREAKS. -About 3.30 a.m. on Thursday-the'fire brigade was summoned to an outbreak •in a two-storied'eight-rboihed house- 1 in Murphy Street. The' place was'owhed by Mrs. John Holmes.and_c-ccupied by Mrs. Margaret Diamond. When "the brigade arrived, the. flames had a fairly "good hold, and the .'building and the contents of the. top story vero -badly damaged. Considerable damage was also done to the" bottom'floor-By'water and smoke. The building .was insured in the Northern Office for £550. There was no insurance- on the contents. The cause of the fire remains unknowji. The brigade received another 'call early yesterday morning, this time to the Railway Workshops • in Waterloo Quay. 'There a slight outbreak was extinguished 'without •'■ difficulty. No .material damage was done.
