Mellsop, Eliott end Co., Pahneraton North, • local agents) report on the'frozen meat market, under date London February 16, as follows:—. • ■ . ■ ■ /_ ■' The heavy supplies of Home-grown meat continue .to.- arrive, , and as thoy laro omplo for the present demand, and to prevent the market from breaking away, it was decided,-in the interests of tho nation, that releases of tho Government frozen meat should bo -withheld, for the meantime. Thus, for the first time since tho war began, tho trade has been without New , ' Zealand and Australian euoplics, oxcept for tho few hundred carcasses which some buyora had been able to carry over from the previous week. Trade has been very slow, and allowed of no advance In the prloes of uncontrolled meat, for which, however, there was an improved inquiry <vt the end of the week. ' \ i ■ .
