"(Private Norman Nicholson, eldest son of Mr. Nonnan Nicholson, formerly of Gisborno, has been awarded the. Military Medal for gallantry on the field of action. Private Nicholson left with the Rfteenth Beinforcements,; trad after five days in England waa drafted to France, going almost immediately into tho firing line. Private Nicholson has been a resident of Gisoorno for 14 years. Private Angus Nicholson, his younger brother t returned to New Zealand before Christinas, being seriously .wounded. Ho haß undergone five operations, four of which were performed -in England 1 , and the oihet in Gisborne.
