CHANGEABLE WEATHER
Yesterday, tho wind, contrary to the official expectations of a southerly, veered hacß to tho north, and developed into a. stiff breeze. Changeable weather, with fair to cloudy conditions, has heen the rule generally. Present indications, states the Meteorological Department, are for # freshening northerly and westerly winds, with.cloudy and probably unsettled weather, and scattered showers, especially in the western districts and southern portions of the South Island.
