New Zealand), speaking as chairman of the New Zealand War Contingent Association, states 1 that "the balanoe at the end of March was £7000 for general comforts, and £21,000 for the lied Cross. There is an additional ' £2000 & hand for comforts. BrigadierGeneral G. S. Richardson holds £1000 for comforts .for hospital patients. General Richardson deprecates any sys- ! tematic attempt % the association to 1 cater for fit men, whose care should i devolve on the military authorities, with small supplements from the High Commissioner s Fund, subscribed _ in.
