MIRAMAR AFFAIRS
BOROUGH. COUNCIL MEETING. , : Mr. F. Townsend (Mayor) presided over last evening'B meeting . of the Miramar Borough Council, and Councillors Underwood, Hawthorns, and Green were also present. An application for a sewerage extension to five sections owned by him was received from Mr. H. P. Rawson. As the applicant agreed to pay half cost of such extension it was granted. A water-main extension to his premises on the Seatoun Heights was the subject of a letter from Mr J. P. Collins. Amongst other conditions the applicant offered to pay half the cost. The council decided they would make the extension provided Mr. Collins paid half the cost, as offered, ,but drclined to enter into tho other conditions suggested. ■ An application was received asking the counoil to lease a compari3s2t-.it of the Seatoun tramway terminus rotunda for use as a book, paper, and tobacco stall.. _ The lease wrb-granted on the condition that the loEsee made all the necessary alterations to tflft apartment to enable him to carry out his business. The Salvation Army was granted permission to use tho Seateun Park on Easter Monday.
