RUNNING THE.GAUNTLET ON TUB : MEUSE. ; .
The Havre correspondent of tli«j "Petit Journal" recently, telegraphed tha£ 103" inhabitants of Liege, including a nirniber of women and children, seized: the tugboat Atlas V, bolonging to tli» Germans, and, after making tho crews intoxicated, left Liege at midnight anct succeeded in escaping by way of tha Meuse to Holland. The journey, whicil ocoupied an hour and three-quarters, was made in safety, despite the cables an 4 other obstacles in the river'. The piloty who had tnkeu the precaution of protect ing the bridge, was fired on by German sentinels, and machine-guns wore used against him. Guns were also fired at the vessel. All on board'escaped, however,/without ■ injury. The vessel wa* an old one. and the Germans had recently spent .£320 on repairing her.
