They "are all fillies, and claim Strathspey, Shepherdess, and Margarette as their dams. The Shepherdess filly has boeu named BoPeep. ' Pacifio Sloped who was purchased after the Bulla Meeting 'by a patron of H. Kingan's stables, was out working at Trentham yesterday morning. The Gisborno gelding may later on be tried over fences, Tho two-year-old Biplane has been slightly lame in front lately, and on Tuesday his trainer was unable to, work him. It will be most unfortunate''if he is unable to get to tho post for the .Champagne Stakes at Riccarton, as without hib there will only bo two starters,' viz.,. Estland and Gamecock. On Tuesday morning ICilboy was.responsible for a most impressive performance, one that has seldom been eurpassed at Riccarton. Jumping off from the nine-furlong post he was picked up after going throe furlongs by Bayonne. As a'result Longley's promising hurdler will bo off tho scene for ftt least several weeks. Tho local trainer, J. W. Lowe, ie at present laid up with a damaged foot, caused by tho tvvo-ycar-old Cooing rearing up and coming down on top of tho foot. Tho two-year-old, recently kicked through a fence and cjifc herself about a bit, and Lowo was bathing the part when ho met trouble himself. ■ From-Ynld hurst, mentor R.
