BIG GUN SHOOT
FROM, FORT BALLANCE TO-DAY.
Thfs afternoon the °6-pouhders at Fort Ballahce will-be exercised. Thirty rounds are'to ho fired by the officers' class of 'the Garrison. Artillery Division, at a floating. target, the range being about 1700 yards. Lieut.-Colonel ■F. J. Courtney will be in charge of the 1 instruction.- Tho officers themselves wilt" form the gun detachments, the battery commander's staff, and range-finding detachment. The shooting is being held as the concluding test of a course of instructional lectures delivered during week-end camps that : havo been in progress for some time past. ■ .
