Tho president, Mr. J. /M.-Johnston, said ihe "position was that tho Manawatu" Association must [provide £1500 each yoar before it got anything for prize-money, advertising, /and printing, labour, etc. If tho show hvas not held,, this £1600 wonld hare Ito bo met. Thero was no reliable inVeome outside members' subscriptions, lentry fees, gate money, and donations. !lt would be necessary to ask members jito continue their subscriptions, and Jgivo them only Winter Show priviMeges. If tho show was not_ held it, nvould greatly upset the organisation of fthe;association, and once tho memberjfebip was allowed to go down it would be:a difficult matter to get it up (again. He moved: "That the commit-ftee-is of tho opinion, that it is not desirable to abandon the Spring Show (unless the Government considers it advisable, and instructs ' accordingly." TAn'amendment, "That the committee •is of the opinion that it is not desirable-, to abandon the Spring Show," •was.: carried. It was decided to limit ■ $he~Winter Show to three days.
