The latest news from the British front records a further march along on the heels of the retreating enemy of from two to eight miles in depth,' and the liberation'of. 40 more villages. On the French front, the advance is stated to be even more rapid. About one hundred villages have been freed. The enemy is laying waste the country-side in his retreat, and great fires on the horizon mark, the progress of his departure. In Mesopotamia the British have crossed the Diala and pushed their advance northward. The enemy x is retiring on Khanikin.' The Russians,, from the Persian side, are steadily advancing. There are no material developments on the ' . other fronts. The latest raid by the German, destroyers ,011 the Channel has cost,us a destroyer... The extent of-the enemy's losses : could not be ascertained, owing to the darkness. The raid was barren of results.
