Forsyth, and Bcnnott were present at a meeting of the Central Chamber of Commerce held yesterday afternoon. In connection witli tho "ton for ton" resolution of the chamber passed at tho last meeting, the secretary (Mr.Petherick) said that there was no answer from the executive of the Associated Chambers. Tho letter was sent on February 26. ' Mr. L. A. Edwards said it seemed to him that sending matters on to the executive appeared to be a second stopping place on the road to nowhere. Mr, J. F. 'Atkins thought that tho executive was spread throughout tho four centres, and they were not brought together-unless the business was very urgent. Ho would not like to come from Auckland to discuss suelt a resolution. Mr. Edwards said that as Mr. C. M. Luko-was absent he would moyo that ho ho allowed to bring the matter up when he was present. Tho finance statement showed the credits to be £15 lls. Id. in tlio bank, £128 2s. of unpaid sußscriptions and letting!? duo. £.4' 13s. Mr. L. A..Edwards was given throe months' leave of absence in which to visit Australia. • .-■
