Two attractive properties are the subject of an advertisement in this issue by Messrs. Harcouri and Co., Wellington. The first property is 1200 acres of good limestone country, which' is offered at .£" ss. nn acre and ,£3OO down. The other is S2O acres of sheep country, near to Wellington. " Mr. H. E. Leighton, Featherston Street, advertises particulars' of two up-to-date , city homes, which ate for' sale. The houses are situated on' Upland Boad, Kelburn, and Colombo Street, Newtown. 1 Seventeen single students between eighteen and twenty-one, all passed A and engaged in research work at the Municipal School of Technology, Manchester were on January 10 released by the City Council, although the education committee recently decided to retain them. Three of the seventeen' men. it was said, had declared they would not. go into the Army. At an inquest at Mansfield, Notts, on Annie Walker, aged fifty-tpo, who died from syncope while being operated on for a dislocation of the Biioulder which had been caused by • a violent! attack of sneezing, the husband said that her shoulder had been dislocated six times. Evidence, showed that the woman objected to the operation being performed without chloroform, of which only a small quantity was given. .."
