A girl named Ruby M'Knight, of Caversbam, employed as a typiste at tho Milburn Lime and Cement Company's office, was shot in the chest on Friday night, and a young man named Arthur William Ledgerwood has been arrested on a charge of attempted murder. The full facts have not yet "Been elicited, but it is stated that Misa M'Knight, at the invitation of Ledgerwood, went to tea at * Ledgerwood's parents' residence at the corner of Hanover and Leith Streets, and during the evening was shot in the chest. A medical examination showed that the bullet penetrated tie body, and is now lodged in the hack. The wound is serious, but fatal results are not expected. The injured girl has not yet' been removed from Ledgerwood's place.
