TSAR ABDICATES THE .; tHRONE SUCCEEDED BY THE GRAND DUKE MICHAEL MATTERS NOW QUIET The veil that has obscured recent developments, in the political iituation. in Russia has been suddenly and dramatically lifted, disclosing a nation in revolt. An Imperial deerco dissolving the Duma • precipitated a course of events that has been prophesied for months past.-' 'The Duma and people rebelled, and constituted a Revolutionary Committee. The Tsar has abdicated his throne, giving place to his brother, .the Grand Duko Michael. All things considered, the revolution has been comparatively bloodless, though there has. been street fighting, hut the authorities, it is pointed out, apparentry realised that forces greater than they could hope to cope with '•'were arrayed against-them. Tho movement, we are told, is antiGerman.- The people are with the Allies, and are eager to help in - -gaining the victory-over forces which.stand for.the destruction of the ideals that. inspired the revolution. ■
