30,000 PUBLIC-HOUSES TO BE CLOSED. London, March 11. Representatives at the Government and tho brewing industry have held a number of conferences as to the best manner to make ton million bailrtls of beer to suffice for tho year. It is expected an agreement will be reached regarding tho reduction. It is probable that thirty thousand public houses will be closed during the next few months. There is an undue number of licensed houses in Tural districts. It is expected an arrangement trill be mado whereby a single firm Trill supply beer to each district, thus reducing transport and labour. —Aue.N.Z. Cable Assn.
