FEEDING THE TROOPS

A MAGISTRATE ON PRODUCTION. By Telegraph— I'ross Association.. Pahlatua, March 15. 1 In dismissing informations against a Territorial in the employ of a stock firm, tho Magistrate (Mr. Kerr, S'.M.) said that it was becoming a very great question whether agricultural labourers and milkers should not bo exempted. It mtist not bo forgotten that there was something more important required of tho country than merely sending away its men to tlie front. It had to see that these men were promptly and continuously fed. Of tho extensive dealings in stock which wero taking place a great deal was intended for export for the feeding of not merely our own but the British and troops. Every possible facility must be given for seeing that tho food supplies wero got away regularly for shipping. Nothing should be done, to hamper those thus engaged in their operations.
