AUCKLAND EDUCATION HOARD'S ATTITUDE. % Telegraph .—Press Association. Auckland, March 14. Jho attitude of tho .Board of Education toward the exemption of teachers was defined during the consideration of a request to support the appeal made i-o tho committee of a country school on behalf of the headmaster. It was j claimed that tho school had benefited j greatly through tho good work and inj liuonco of tho teacher, and tho comimtteo desired to retain his services. | The board resolved that its policy ho ! maintained, and that tho committee bo informed that tho application for exemption could not bo sanctioned. A ease presenting different features was considered when tho report of the Supervisor of the Manual and Technical Branch was beforo Iho meeting, and recommended that application be mads ior two months' extension of time in tho oaso of a country instructor, in order that, he might complete bis duties at (he live schools. It was decided lo apply for extension of time.
