ANNUAL MEETING. annual meeting of shareholders in the Metropolitan Permanent Building and investment Society iras held last night, somel twelve shareholders attending. Mr. A , Sannay, chairman of directors, presided.

For a great part of thia ro3ult credit was due to the secretary, Mr. 0..A. Ewen, and the shareholders owed thanks to him and to his staff. The report and balanco-sheet were adopted. The retiring- directors, Messrs. W. H. Hannay and George Moe. were re-elected, without opposition. A dividend was declared at the usual rate of 7 per cent, per annum, and a further sum of GSGO was added to the fund, raising it to the amount of £12,000.
