MASTERTON NOTES
At a, meeting of the Masterton Cooperative Dairy Company it was announced that tho output was not sufficient to cope with the demand of local customers. It was decided to approach, the Government with a view to securing supplies for companies so situated. There are at present over 4000 hooks on the shelves of the Masterton Public Library. The librarian reports that the demand for works of fiction is keener now than before the war. A pairs tournament is to be hsjd by the Masterton and Park Bowling Club 3 during the Easter holidays. The engineer to tho Eketahuna County Council has tendered his resignation. A cricket match between the E Company, Twenty-fifth Reinforcements, ana the Masterton Club was played on Saturday. Tho former scored 142 ruus and the latter 203 for tho loss of five wickets. ... The following were the points gained in the freezing classos at the recent, Masterton Show for the AValker and Hall cupW. M'Kenzie, 33; J. Strang, 25; W. E. C. Tylee, 24. The Masterton A. and P. Association has voted a' sum of £10 10s. to the Featherston Military Band and Buglo Band for supplying music at the last two shows.
