♦ V STATEMENT BY CAR INSPECTOR VALENTINE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Chi'istchurch, March 12. Before tho Railway Rolling Stock Commission to-day John Valentino, car and wagon inspector, Wanganui, was recalled at his own request.. ,Be said when seeing Mr. T. M. Wilford, M.P., in Wellington in July, 1916, on private business, the subject of railway rolling stock was introduced by Mr. Wilford, but witness said nothing condemnatory of the rolling stock—nothing whatever. Ho never made representations to Mr. Wilford with tho request, that lie should "pass it along." lie never made a certain statement attributed to him by Mr. Wilford in the House. Tho Commission has finished taking evidence, and is now preparing its report.
