ST. PATRICK'S DAY
A large number of entries have been received from-the soldiers at Trentliam and Featherston for the sports events to be held at tho Newtown Park next Saturday. Tho tug-of-war promises to be an attractive item. The-" New Zealand Natives' Band and tho Marist Brothers' Drum and Fife Band will render selections on the ground. The concert in tho evening promises well, and judging by the demand for tickets a bumper houso is assured. Mr. Fred G. Bourlco, tho Auckland baritone, and Mrs. E. Amers Power, the Dunedin operatic contralto, will assist leading locn.l artists in tho presentation of a first-class programme.
