ORGAN RECITAL
Almost weekly Mr. Bernard F. Pago (City Organist) pays his tribute to the gifted Belgian composer, Cesar Franck, whom ho considers to take rank with the foremost composers of any time, and whoso power and musical intellectuality, will surely be established in. a world's estimation by that surest of all judges—Time. "One has only to glance at recital programmes from the artistic centres to learn of the growing estimation of Cesar Franck, who is still caviare to tho general public in this part of the world. On Saturday evening Mr. Page played his "Symphony in D Minor," and gave full value to its many-liued beauties. In a gentler mood was MacDowell's sketches "In Passing Moods" consisting of the "Prologue, "All Old Love Story," "A Deserted Farm," and "Told at Sunset,', dainty compositions of much atmospheric charm, veined with rivulets of tho purest melody, and never hy any chance hanal. Edward MacDowell's death is still, lamented in America. Salome's "Gothic March, No. 1," ; was also included in the programme.
