TRANSPORT SUNK
COLLISION IN A DENSE FOG (Rcc. March 11, 5.5 p.m.) London, March 10. The War Office announces that the transport Mendi, with the final batch of South African native labourers, collided with another vessel in a thick fog off the Islo of Wight on February 21. Twelve Europeans and 191. natives were saved, and ten 'Europeans and 615 natives drowned.—Aus.-N.Z. Cablo Assn.-Reuter.
