SUPERANNUATION SCHEME

_ * FOR. CITr COUNCIL STAFF. At last evening's meeting of the Wellington City Council, Couucillor J. E. Fitzgerald asked the Mayor what was; being done regarding the corporation superannuation scheme. Tho Jiayor stated that a scheme Lad been propared, and subsequently was discussed in committee, and was adopted. The schemo was permissive so far as tho present staff was concerned, but for anyone joining the staff after the scheme was launched it would be compulsory. First of all the scheme would embrace the men known as "the staff." Subsequently all employees would bo brought in. The scheme was being initiated under tho Provident Fund Act, which would mean that 25 per cent, of the money would be contributed by the State.
