Dr. Bedford, Professor of '.Economics at tho Otago University, who paid a visit to England in tho interests of the Y.M.C.A., has returned to New Zealand. He went south on Wednesday evening. Mr. H. A. Beauchamp, New Zealand manager for Messrs. Xodak (Australasia), Ltd., loft for Sydney by last night's steamer. Tho members of the Selinsky-Amadio Concert Company left for Sydney by the Moeraki last evening. Mr. William Cooper, who recently sold his farm at To Ore Ore, and removed to Masterton, has joined tho firm of Messrs. Wright, Stephenson, and Co., Masterton, and will have charge of tho stock department. Mr. John E. Walker, a Ckristchnrch boy who joined tho training ship Amokura in 1907 at tho age of 15 years, has recently qualified in London for an extra master's certificate. He completed his training on the Amokura in 1909, and since then has served m various ships in different parts of tne world. ' He is the first Amokura boy to tako the certificate of extra master. Dr J. P. Frengley has been appointed Deputy-Inspector General of Hospitals. " .
