In the Hoiist! of Commons, CapUiin liathiirst said there was an nirarecedw.ted world-wide scarcity of potatoes, it was unlikely that ihcra-would- be miiliciont in Britain for anybody in the late spring and early summer. There was Tio evidence ihat farmers were, unreasonably withholding stocks.
Mr. Lambert stated that the withdrawals of labour from agriculture are so great ;is to' result in a serious diminution in food production.
