The hospital ship brought twentytwo officers and 510 other ranks, inchiding 45 cot cases, none of whom are officers. None are regarded as specially serious. Tho beneficial effects of tho voyngo aro apparent. At the commencement there were nearly 100 lying down cases. To destinations of tho men are as follow: —Auckland, total number 169; cot cases, 11. AVellinclon, 185 and 15. Cliristchuroh, 83 and 5. Duiipdin, flo and 14. The Mayor (Mr. .T. TI. Gunson) welcomed the men on behalf of the City. In the course of a speech Sir James Allon paid a warm tribute t otho work of Colonel Collins, medical officer commanding tho hospital ship, and staff. It was a matter for gratification that the staff of the hospital ship had j»ivon their services so ungrudgingly. Special praise was duo to nurses who.had undertaken risks and braved dancers, ft was splendid to think that New Zealand men always wished to be in Now Zealand hospitals, on New Zealand hospitnl < ships, and tended by Now Zealand : nurses.
