SHORTAGE OF DOCTORS AND NURSES
ACUTE POSITION IN CHRISTCHURCH. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christcliurch, February 28. At the meeting of the Hospital Board to-day. Dr. Kox, Medical Superintendent of Christcliurch Hospital, drew attention to the shortage of doctors and -nurses owing to the war. Tho position was so acute that it was coming to tho point when it would bo impossible to carry on. He suggested that the military authorities should be asked to loan the board four medical officers to relieve the position; lieutenants to serve six months and then be replaced, and the senior officers serve for the duration of the war.' Tt was agreed that the Medical Superintendent proceed to to make representations to Sir James Allen and tho Hon. G. W. Russell in the matter.
