BIG CANAL PROJECT. The HagiWi February 25. The Bavarian Diet has adopted » proposal for»a canal from Aschaffonburs (Bavaria) to Pasean (Bavaria), linking tie Kiver Main and the Danube. The canal will accommodate 12,000 ton ships, and will havo a length, of 460 miles. It will cost 650 million marks, and its construction will occupy eight years.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
