The : "Daily Telegraph's" correspondent at Rome says that Swiss telegrams report an intrigue between the Court and politicians at Vienna, and Munioh, with the object of preparing a union of Austria and Bayuria which would cans© disaster among the Central Powers. . King Ludwig of Bavaria had frequent interviews with Emperor Carl, and when the Vatican was sounded, re- ■ garding the eventuality, it promised support in order to. save the Catholics of the two Empires from Protestant influences.— Aus.-N.Z.
