SERIOUS FLOODS
INTERRUPTED REPORT FROM POVERTY BAY DISTRICT. According to a Press Association teleSram from Kahukura, a township on the. Waiapu River, ninety-one miles north-east of Gisbome, serious floods are being .experienced in the Poverty Bay district. The messago states:— Tho Waiapu River Las been twice in flood in ejght days. It is rising again for the third, time at the southern end. The big bridge has been swept away! and the centre span sunk. There has been, considerable loss of stock. The Poroporo River is also flooded, and lias isolated the Tikitiki township. Native ."
