NEW SALVATION ARMY HOSTEL
IN VIVIAN STREET. Tho Salvation Army's hostel activities are to be extended in AVellington. During the last few days tho Army has purchased, through tho agency of Mr. S. George Nathan; tho valuable property of Mr. George Webb, grocer, on the corner of Vivian and Tory Streets, which it proposes to convert into a Workers and Returned Soldiers' Hostel, to be run on cheap but good' lines, somewhere between the" People's Palace in Cuba Street and the Workers' Hotel in Buckle Street. The property mentioned has a frontage to Vivian Street of 110 ft., and one to Tory Street-of 88ft., which includes a substantial two-story brick building which is to bo considerably enlarged. The Army will take possession'of the property early next month.
